	Mark as Spam actionforanimals: 03/23/2008 2:20 PM yeah, veg stuff can be hard for parents to understand. my mom was worried about it when i became vegan, but i looked up all of the information to show her that i would be healthy as a vegan (actually even more healthy than as a vegetarian, and even more so than somone who eats meat), and i also became more involved in cooking at home. i would find vegan recipes that my whole family could enjoy and help cook them, and then my parents have also learned about how many common foods that they eat are vegan. in regard to the eating fish, the nutrients that people get from fish that are good for them -- particularly in regard to omega acids -- can be found in plant sources, which don't carry the risks (such as mercury) and cruelty (the pain that fish suffer, the damage that fishing does to the environment) that eating fish does. for example, olive oil and flax seed are great sources of omega 3.
